Athens District High School Jacket
This image shows a blue and yellow varsity jacket with a graphic patch of a bear and the letter “A”. This jacket was donated by Joyce and Mitch Alguire in May of 2024. The jacket was originally owned by Tina Alguire, daughter of Joyce and Mitch Alguire. The jacket was from 1956 to 1961. Varsity jackets were traditionally worn to symbolise the school pride, and athletic achievements. This jacket was likely made from nylon or polyester satin as its outer shell is non-absorbent.

Red Poodle Skirt

This image shows a red poodle skirt, typically worn in the in the 1950's. This poodle skirt is in good condition it feels soft and made from felt. They are handmade from felt circles with an elastic waistband and often features decorative trim around them. These skirts are most famous for their coiffed poodle with a leash as well as style.

This vintage lace half-slip is a white/cream ivory garment with a pink bow; this skirt is usually made from a lighter material as it went under your dress as a slip. The materials and designs on this half-slip are a sheer fabric and designed with floral patterns. This half-slip is in good condition; there is some fraying not too bad or noticeable.
