How did we survive online education in 2020?
Experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic while going to school in Athens, Ontario, was surreal and challenging. In early 2020, as cases began to rise, schools went into lockdown, and students and teachers needed to quickly adjust to online learning from home. The classrooms that were once bustling with activity became screens filled with virtual faces. Despite the isolation, teachers and staff worked hard to keep a sense of community alive, offering online clubs and activities to help students stay connected. It was a strange mix of frustration and resilience, learning to adapt to a world that suddenly felt smaller yet more distant at the same time.

Covid-19 a time that was so long ago yet still so close to reach. I was in grade four when the news of this new sickness called Covid 19 came out. In Grade 6 was when the masks came into effect, and this was the year I moved from one school to another, a new school wearing a mask and 6 feet apart from everyone. Then, the news came out, no school, just isolation, no interactions with people and secluded from the world, Covid 19 changed me. Many students suffered during covid with depression and the separation from a normal life. I got covid in grade 7 along with my 8-year-old sister and my dad. Covid 19 will always influence me, as my lungs will never recover from it. Near the end of covid, regulations loosened and we were able to see people and I was finally able to see family and regulations were lifted and the whole world was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. My life will never be the same, no one's will.
