Dear Georgia,
I received your letter some time ago but did not have the opportunity to answer it. I received the day before yesterday the smokes from John Donald and I would like you to give him the little note I shall enclose. I also got some smokes from the Halleck “Busy Bee” Club. I see Cecil at frequent intervals for instance I was standing guard and he passed by in a truck and yelled “Hello Raymond” and it suddenly struck ever before I saw him it was Cecil. He’s with the first medium I think. That is according to the number on the vehicle. This is the only picture I’ve got at present so I’ll send it and later will have a better one to send. Its difficult here to get snaps taken on account of paper short. The weather here is beautiful here and not at all damp although a little cool. But I think a storm of several days is brewing as each day lately looks less and less inviting. I suppose by the time you get this you will be setting your mouth for some luscious strawberries what! You see evenings here are actually two hours ahead of standard time and right now it doesn’t darken until approximately ten o’clock and in another months time it will be practically eleven. We usually play rugby and lacrosse at night and ping pong (table tennis). I’m getting to be quite a fiend for table tennis. I’m going to start tennis this summer if I get time to do so. The girl I told auntie Kate I was going to marry and I have given up the idea as I figure on waiting till I get home because I cannot afford to make a mistake on the marital subject. At least I’d hate to. Well Georgia I’ve about came to the end of my rope so I’ll say cheerio for now,
heaps of love
Raymond Francis.
P.S. Say hello to the kids for me. Love Ray.
