Dear Georgia,
I have been hoping for a letter from you, if not an answer to mine, to say you had received the photographs of the wedding. I am enclosing the only two I have left. I hope you like them, my mother and father are standing next to me also my sister.
I was on six days leave with Ray last week, had a lovely time. It was then he told me you had written to him, and said you had received my letter, if you do write, would you use my home address as Ray’s.
I suppose you are very surprised to hear I am in the navy, and have been for two months, ever since the beginning of the war I wanted to be a Wren, and it’s been eighteen months since I first applied. Ray wasn’t terribly keen at first, but since he has seen me, he has rather changed his mind. I feel so well and every one tells me I look well. I must have a picture taken for you, have you one of yourself and the children you could spare for me.
I suppose you are very anxious to know me. I wonder what you think about me, but I can assure you I am quite respectable and everything. It’s very annoying not being able to meet, don’t you think so. But I can understand your point of view, if you feel rather suspicious of me but I hope we will be friends and that you will spare a minute to write to me.
Auntie Kate did write but although I’ve written she hasn’t answered, so I feel a bit squashed.
I am rather busy just now, so will say Cheerio.
