Dear Georgia –
I haven’t anything startling to say but I have enclosed a picture taken with a chum on the steps of the Canada club in Rome. It was taken the day I was confirmed C. of E. There and mailed to me. I received them today and have finished a letter to Muriel enclosing one. I also sent one to her Mother and that eats up my three prints. It’s difficult (though easy for some to have a good picture taken because you never get the chance to go to a town of any size to have one taken. I have seen Naples and Rome about only for ten hours a day and I wouldn’t trust them to mail me an photo after paying the large sum of six dollars for three ten by eight photos of what age and you are not supposed to give addresses to natives especially proprietors.
The war news is very good and we follow it very closely with an Italian electric radio we converted into a battery set. We have a lot of arguments, and the war has been won twice over right here.
It’s been a long time since I heard from you and do write often. During a stage of security lately Muriel didn’t get my mail and nearly went crazy although her letter came in with fit and start.
Yes! I hope we can both soon come home for the war is on the down grade altho not won and there’s still struggling ahead for many people get lax at the news of conviction of hurray! We’ve won “about one mustn’t build castles till the declaration is signed and then he may breathe easier
