Dear John & Georgia:
Naturally this goes for the children as well. I suppose by now they are children no longer but quite grown up. I feel quite sure after the this number of years away I shall hardly know any person. One would think in the midst of the awful experience I am in that you would forget home & everyone but on the contrary I often think of you all and my intentions of writing are good but I never seem to get time.
Time I know seemed to have forgotten about such a thing. Here it is all work & no sleep. I was out for a few days rest but was pushed right back up to the front. I guess you can realise the work we have to do in the midst of the living hell, where you have to shout at each other to even talk.
The weather here has been beautiful & very dry & dusty, with dust goes dirty of course & I am plenty dirty. I hope this letter finds you & the children in the best of health and I know all working very hard. I guess Francis you are getting to be quite a help for Dad by now. Alma and Catherine the same quite the young ladies now. Please send some recent snaps of you all.
This is all I can write about just now but will try to do better soon. Keep praying for me as I know now they help. I will do my best to keep my head down. Love & kisses to all,
